Strengthen my back? Stomach muscles?
Core exercises are a good idea (e.g. crunches, plank, sit-ups etc.) Rowing is a good sport to build up your core muscles (stomach muscles) and is fun+sociable as well! It takes time but it will help you in the long run :)
