What else can i play that is similar to the elgar cello concerto?

i have an audition in a few months and i need two contrasting pieces. i will be performing the haydn cello concerto and i was thinking about performing the 1st movement of the elgar cello concerto as my other piece because i love the piece and i've heard j. du pre play it trillions of times. i bought the sheet music, but after one day i've already played through the entire movement perfectly with good intonation and expression and of course i could play it better if i practiced it more but im not sure if i should keep it for my audition in a few months. im not considering the 2nd movement (kind of hard and i want something more emotional), the 3rd (too boring without the 2nd movement) or the 4th (overdone). i would like to play something similar to the elgar that is very emotional but more difficult. I was considering the granados intermezzo, but please give any suggestions
